St Mary’s works with local Health Care and Nursing partners and delivers best practice education.
Many people approach the legal profession for advice and assistance to set up LPAs and making their Wills, however they do not always understand that making these steps to put affairs in order is also part of a future care planning conversation.
Advance Care planning gives the opportunity to think about and express preferences and wishes both personal and around treatment and care they may or may not want should there be a time when for whatever reason they can no longer speak for themselves.
As part of Dying Matters week 2018 to promote conversations about future care planning we are running an Advance Care Planning & Communication Skills training day specifically for the Legal Profession on Friday 18th May.
The poster and booking information is attached here: Solicitors ACP and communication skills 1 day Course Poster flyer blank
The training offers the opportunity to understand Advance Care planning within the context of wills and LPAs, supporting documentation to enable planning and building confidence to introduce the concept and open these conversations.
The day is free as it is part of a wider funded programme of advance care planning training days we are delivering for health, social care and volunteer staff who work with a wide range of client groups across South Cumbria.
We are seeking the support of local Solicitors in expanding this conversation, we would greatly appreciate if a member of your team could attend.
Places are limited, so booking essential, If you would like further information or to book please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
